Earring Metals

I currently use two styles of earring attachments, both of which are made using different metal types. If you are unsure which style you have, check below or drop me an email.

 

Ball stud

All earrings made using the ball stud attachment style are made using 304 Stainless Steel, or 18k Gold plated 304 Stainless Steel. The attachment rings are either gold or silver plated. 

304 Stainless Steel made for the jewellery industry can contain between 8 - 12% nickel. It's considered hypoallergenic and is widely used in the industry because of this, however it depends on the sensitivity of the wearer.

If you are hypersensitive to nickel please be aware of this when choosing this style of my earrings.

 

Flat disc backing

All styles made using your more traditional standard earring post attachment are made using Surgical Steel.

This particular type meets REACH regulations (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) in being nickel free, cadmium free and lead free.

The attachment rings are either gold or silver plated.
